Asphaltenes are heavy compounds found in crude oil that tend to aggregate and precipitate under certain conditions. DA-02 is used as an asphaltene dispersant to mitigate asphaltene flocculation and settling caused by pressure drops or the use of incompatible fluids in oil production operations, including storage tanks, production wells, and processing units.
